Art as a Channel of Knowledge

LEARNING THROUGH ART 2021

Guggenheim Museum Bilbao

Until September 19, 2021

As in previous editions, the Gugenheim Museum has been a promoter of the initiative “Learning through Art”, whose results will be available for your visit until 19 September 2021.

This project aims to promote certain areas of knowledge, such as mathematics and biology through art, by the hand of six artists –Elssie Ansareo, Ibon Garagarza, Zaloa Ipiña, Nerea Lekuona, Manu Muniategiandigoetxea and finally Ibon Saénz de Olazagoitia– in collaboration with the management of six Basque schools. Experimentation and trial and error became essential to motivate the learning and desire to investigate of the more than 100 children who participated in this year’s edition, consisting of a total of eight workshops.

The originality of the children combines with the results obtained throughout the development of the activity, giving rise to a unique exhibition that focuses on public spaces (courtyards, squares, parks, etc.) and the multiple possibilities they offer, whose exhibition in the halls of the Guggenheim makes known to those involved the value of their work.

A project that transmits the values and importance of creativity, motivating children to appreciate new points of view and opening doors to their imagination.
