In search for new Environmental horizons in the Conde Duque

The Centro de Cultura Contemporánea Conde Duque hosts the collective exhibition “Return the fire” organized within the framework of the MadBlue. This exhibition has as a generator concept the idea that our time is the moment in which humanity must return fire to Prometheus, alluding to the Greek Mythology, to focus on developing new energy sources that will have the lighter impact on our planet.

MadBlue is a cultural event that takes place in Madrid during the spring, created by the Piel de Atún Foundation with the support of several public and private institutions, in order to encourage sustainable development in our society. To this end, the foundation organizes during the event different activities, such as art exhibitions, debates, workshops and conferences, which aim to disseminate and reflect on technological innovations and new ideological paradigms that shape the care of the environment today.

Participating in this exhibition are artists Alberto Carneiro, Enar de Dios Rodríguez, Dan Graham, Glenda León, Julia Llerena, Eva Lootz, Nacho Martín Silva, Mireya Masó, Rosell Meseguer, Ding Musa, Lois Patiño and Keke Vilabelda; and curated by Mónica Maneiro Jurjo, who has a long career as curator of art exhibitions.

Mónica Maneiro studied Art History at the University of Santiago de Compostela and has a master’s degree in Museology from the same university. She has participated as deputy curator of the Urban Art Festival Look Up! Natural Porto Show together with David Barro, in 2010; as well as in a large number of exhibitions, including Miradas cinematográficas, Colección CGAC; Manuel Elirís/ Miguel Marina, DIDAC; or Formas del diseño. Galicia XXI, Auditorium of Galicia.

This exhibition can be visited in the Room “Sala de Bóvedas” of the center until July 17, 2022 from Tuesday to Saturday from 10:00 to 14:00 h and from 17:00 to 21:00 h; and on Sundays and holidays from 10:00 to 14:00 h.
