The Thyssen Museum is preparing one of its major exhibitions this year: «The Magritte Machine».
This is the first retrospective of the artist that has been held in Spain since 1989, it was at the Juan March Foundation. In this exhibition it will be clear what were his obsessive themes and his creative components, so it will be divided into sections such as: The picture and the window, The face and the mask, Mimicry, Megalomania, etc.
Rene Magritte (1898-1967) was a Belgian surrealist painter, who perceived surrealism from a very personal perspective, the Magic Realism, creating very ingenious and provocative images with the intention of making the viewer think and to see and explore new perspectives of reality. He remained steadfast to his ideas and principles above fads and trends, which allowed him to have a very personal and unrepeatable style.
The Exhibition will make the next stop at the Caixaforum of Barcelona.
90 paintings, films and photographs to feed us until we get drenched in art.
We love Magritte and we have to remember that our artist Sintora has produced his own version of «Le Fils de l’Homme» disponible en nuestra tienda en Edición Limitada y Numerada: click here to view it.
From September 14, 2020 to January 30, 2021.
